about
‘The Life & Times of John Turturro’ is a complicated weaving of lyrical and musical elements, interacting to create a frenzied and unhinged soundscape. To match the frenetic musical energy, the lyrics tells of a young protagonist struggling with mental illness and the chaos that it wreaks on their life. Their inner battle is heavily exacerbated by the unfortunate fate of being trapped within a dystopian nightmare where reality has been replaced with a non-stop cycle of interactive John Turturro movies, in which they play minor roles that often end violently.
lyrics
Dance, increase dopamine, use Dexedrine, with death, he’s a friend to me and,
Dance, he’s psilocybe, he’s borderline, these kids are fucking animals so…
(Cut it) Hit the lights (Cut it) you’re a rat (Cut it). Get the car, take the fucker out the back.
(Cut it) That’s a take (Cut it) that’s a wrap (Cut it). You’re an extra, just forget about it.
When he hears voices he listens, but he can’t answer the questions. He’s just following orders. He’s in love with disorders, but he can’t answer the questions. He can’t handle attention. He’s just following orders. Sit down, stand up, sit down, sit down stand up!
Dance, Cosell and I. Cool sound inside. I think it was always you.
Dance, he does it right. He’s dead inside. He’s just a fucking animal so…
(Cut it) Hit the lights (Cut it) you’re a rat (Cut it). Get the car, take the fucker out the back.
(Cut it) That’s a take (Cut it) that’s a wrap (Cut it). You’re an extra, just forget about it.

Hit the lights (heart got left in the gutter). You’re a rat (opened up like a shutter). Get the car (he don’t know any better), out the back (don’t even know why).
Hit the lights (heart got left in the gutter). You’re a rat (opened up like a shutter). Get the car (he don’t know any better), out the back (don’t even know why) anymore.
When he hears voices he listens, but he can’t answer the questions. He’s just following orders. He’s in love with disorders.
